It's a 'quiet celebration' as the legendary Paul Simon returns to the stage for an extended run of shows across North America. Taking his Grammy-nominated album "Seven Psalms" in its entirety alongside his most iconic solo hits and collaborations with Art Garfunkel, it's a career-spanning setlist that his fans wouldn't want to miss. Known for his blend of folk and rock tunes, he soon became one of the most celebrated artists around the globe.
The 'A Quiet Celebration" tour marked his first full trek since he embarked on a farewell run of shows in 2018. While he made surprises appearances in between, seven years marked the beginning of a new era. Although, his career faced some uncertainties as Simon lost most of his left ear's hearing.
"Boy, have I been beaten up in these last couple of years," the singer told Rolling Stone as he revealed the state of his health. "But I look good, right?"
With the help of Stanford Initiative to Cure Hearing Loss and his team's efforts to make a new monitor setup, he's ready to perform once more. At age 84, Paul Simon remains dedicated to keeping his legacy on stage. In order to keep his ears on check and to accomodate his unique setup, his new shows were held in smaller theaters with carefully-managed acoustics. Steadily, he started marking bigger venues, showing improvement for his condition.
His most recent album, "Seven Psalms", came out in 2023. Simon performs the record in its entirety in the first half of his A Quiet Celebration shows. The tracklist includes "The Lord", "Love Is Like a Braid", "My Professional Opinion", "Your Forgiveness", "Trail of Volcanoes", "The Sacred Harp", and "Wait".
After this beautiful run, a short intermission takes place before the mood shifts to an amazing ride back across his solo hits & works with Art Garfunkel. All these classics will have you singing along and probably tearing up. Some setlist staples include "Graceland", "Homeward Bound", "Me and Julio Down by the Schoolyard", and more.
Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, won 16 Grammy Awards, and recognized among the most legendary living artists today, he's sold over seven million albums in the U.S. + more for his two records after 2016, "In the Blue Light" and "Seven Psalms". He was also honored with the Kennedy Center Honors and the Library of Congress's Gershwin Prize.
Widely recognized for his legacy in music, Paul Simon's music will definitely live on for many generations to come. Witness beautiful folk and rock music history come to life as he brings "A Quiet Celebration" back to the stage. Don't miss out by booking your tickets now!
