What to Expect at a Benaroya Hall Show

When you go to a show at Benaroya Hall, you can expect to go directly from your car or transit station into the venue. Covered access ensures you can stay out of the Seattle rain! Once inside, you’ll be blown away by the architecture and artworks that decorate the hall, including two enormous Dale Chihuly glass sculptures that resemble chandeliers. Over the entrance to the magnificent concert auditorium, you’ll see a 12-foot-high, nine-panel mural by Robert Rauschenberg.

Benaroya Hall isn’t just a concert hall, but a series of integrated art and entertainment spaces. These include three performance areas with outstanding acoustic technology: the main S. Mark Taper Foundation Auditorium, Octave 9 Raisbeck Music Center and the Illsley Ball Nordstrom Recital Hall. In addition, the Norcliffe Founders Room and the Samuel & Althea Stroum Grand Lobby provide a great location for all kinds of elegant events, such as wedding receptions, celebratory meals and banquets, fashion shows, fundraisers and corporate presentations or meetings.

The Grand Lobby is designed in a cylindrical style that immediately sets it apart from the standard rectangular profile of Seattle buildings. You’ll get outstanding views at various levels through its vast spread of bay windows, including the Seattle Art Museum, Puget Sound and the city skyline. This is a favorite place for people to gather for pre-concert drinks and snacks from the bars. You can also get full-service dining at Muse, inside the Founders’ Room, or a more relaxed meal at Davids & Co. cafe, in the Boeing Company Gallery.
